| The
Garey Rock Plant was established in 1956 in Garey, California.
It is located in the northern region of Santa Barbara County at
the confluence of the Cuyama and Sisquoc Rivers, which form to
make the Santa Maria River. |
|
|
It is
here that for years Union Asphalt, Inc. has operated our facility
by mining the alluvial material present. In 1963, the company added
a hot asphalt concrete plant at the Garey site in order to supply
the local area with road paving material. |
| Today,
this aggregate and asphalt concrete facility has undergone numerous
upgrades and beneficial changes to improve and enhance the original
facility. These improvements enable Union Asphalt to stay competitive
in the ever-growing and challenging market of today. |
The Garey Rock Plant produces between 35 and 40 separate
products, meeting the needs of both Union Asphalt's operations
as well as the needs of various federal, state, county and local
contractors and customers. This operation services Union Asphalt
by providing the corporation with quality aggregates for the ready
mix plants and Construction Division and additionally by providing
our customers with a top-quality reliable product at an efficient
and affordable price.
