The primary goal of the Construction Division was to sell
Union Asphalt's products, specifically asphalt and road
base. |

| Over the years, the Construction Division
of Union Asphalt, Inc. has grown to become a major player
on the Central Coast. Its Construction Division's main focus
has become major highway overlays and new construction projects
for Caltrans. In recent years, the Construction Division
has laid about 250,000 tons of asphalt per year. |

| Projects for Caltrans
range from as large as 125,000 tons of asphalt while smaller county,
city and private jobs vary in size. The Construction Division is
also no stranger to earthwork, performing dirt moving projects that
involve 500,000 cubic yards of material. The Division has also expanded
into site work for housing tracts and commercial sites. Moving major
quantities of dirt on a housing tract and grading for the roads
and house pads has become a major source of work for the Construction
Division. |
